You may have missed a bunch of updates to SoundCloud last month with new ways to react to comments and smoother uploads for artists.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

March was a surprisingly active month for SoundCloud<\/a>‘s UI with a bunch of small but fun new drops. In case you missed it, we’re going to look at what’s new on SoundCloud for both listeners and artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

New ways for listeners to interact on SoundCloud tracks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SoundCloud have added a like button for comments, so you can drop a heart on the contributions you want to show some love. In case your feelings on the comment are a little more nuanced, you found it funny for example, you have a selection of emoji reactions you can place on any comments including fire, cry-laughing, and a clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an emphasis on making the comments a better place for discussion, SoundCloud have also added filters on comment sections. This allows you to sort the comments you’re seeing by newest, oldest, or their place within the track. With this last filter, you can also click on the timestamps on people’s comments to skip to that part and see exactly what the fuss is about in the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new upload tool and ways to build fans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SoundCloud have launched a “new upload flow” as part of what they’re calling an improved web experience. Artists are able to opt-in now to try it out. What does it do? We’re not entirely sure, based on the announcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SoundCloud say that the upload flow is “currently limited to single tracks with basic track data, we’ll be supporting multi-track upload and additional advanced data in follow-up releases. Watch this space in coming months.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giving artists more opportunities to celebrate, SoundCloud are ensuring no-one misses a playlist placement. Any artist featured on a SoundCloud Discovery playlists will now receive an email notifying them of their placement with a congratulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clicking a link that a SoundCloud user has sent you will now prompt you to follow that person, allowing you to share tracks with each other in DMs. This new tool will help cultivate followers as you share across socials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new genre-based search landing page on Android allows users to navigate music with easy new icons jumping you straight into genres. SoundCloud hope that this intuitive, genre-based search flow makes it “easier than ever to find what you’re looking for” amongst their 375 million tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
