Below we highlight some of the biggest changes of last year. <a href=\"https:\/\/loudandclear.byspotify.com\/\">Find the full site with more data and FAQs at loudandclear.byspotify.com.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again, in 2023 Spotify accounted for the highest annual payment to the music industry from any single retailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-99183 lazyload\" width=\"563\" height=\"704\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>More artists than ever are generating more money than ever. Spotify stresses they are only one source of income for artists, stating artists likely generated 4x this revenue from recorded music sources overall, plus earning additional income from sources like concert tickets and merch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-99184 lazyload\" width=\"563\" height=\"704\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>This is our favourite! For the first year ever, the catalogue of DIY artists and artists signed to independent record labels accounted for about half of what the entire industry generated on Spotify in 2023.
