YouTube Content ID claims shot up in 2023, a great sign for artists and their copyrights with over $9 billion out to rightsholders.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

YouTube Content ID<\/a> is an extensive library of audio that ensures any use of music within videos is correctly credited and more importantly – the ad revenue goes to the artists. So it’s fantastic news that Content ID saw impressive growth in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Content ID claims were up 25% year-on-year in 2023. YouTube paid out more than $70 billion dollars to creators and artists last year, a huge $9 billion of that going to rightsholders through Content ID. YouTube recently announced a milestone of more than 100 million Premium<\/a> and Music<\/a> subscribers, providing a substantial boost to their revenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fantastic thing about Content ID is that it allows creators to use music in their content without any complicated licensing processes. Those artists are then empowered to make a decision whether they want their music to be allowed for use in content, gaining credit, visibility, and revenues automatically if they opt-in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
