They also discovered that TikTok is the platform on which the most content uses music. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/what-is-youtube-content-id\/\">YouTube<\/a> follows shortly behind, with 84% of the videos on their platform featuring music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-routenote-blog wp-block-embed-routenote-blog\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"cL8R8VZEtA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-make-your-song-go-viral-on-tiktok\/\">TikTok music promotion \u2013 how to get a song to go viral on TikTok (video)<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;TikTok music promotion \u2013 how to get a song to go viral on TikTok (video)&#8221; &#8212; RouteNote Blog\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-make-your-song-go-viral-on-tiktok\/embed\/#?secret=cL8R8VZEtA\" data-secret=\"cL8R8VZEtA\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst TikTok creators clearly love music, they also love to change the music up. The study found that 31% of the tracks used on TikTok are speed or pitch-modified. This can sadly be damaging for artists. Pex wrote: &#8220;The issue with these edited songs is that they are typically not licensed by the creators who upload them&#8230; so, they drive streams for the modified versions over the originals, further exacerbating payment issues for music rightsholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study also looked at social media sites, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-upload-music-to-instagram\/\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/what-is-facebook\/\">Facebook<\/a>. Whilst Instagram offers a TikTok-like format with <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-upload-music-to-instagram\/\">Reels<\/a>, only 58% of their videos contain music.
