The music platform opening up track creation to amateurs is helping them get their tunes licensed in TV, films, and adverts.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BandLab<\/a> have just announced the addition of sync licensing for its creators. Their global community of over 60 million creators can now easily offer the tracks they make on the open platform up for use in media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BandLab Licensing allows users to make the music they create on BandLab available for use in film, TV, games, and advertising. In a statement they told how the addition means that “musicians can unlock the potential to have their music featured in their preferred platforms and beloved shows, not only elevating their exposure, but also bolstering their earnings and fan base”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’re building on ReverbNation’s Sync Licensing program which has seen ad placements with GEICO, Starbucks, and Toyota and in shows from Disney+, CW, and WWE. BandLab bought ReverbNation in 2021<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This represents their first major move to combine the two services. CEO and Co-founder of BandLab Technologies, Meng Ru Kuok says: “The launch of BandLab Licensing marks a significant milestone in the expansion of offerings available to BandLab users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It not only opens up new revenue streams for our creators and a new at-scale partner for the music supervisor and licensee community, but also strengthens our purpose to democratize and grow the value of music creation worldwide.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BandLab is a free and in-browser DAW, making song creation accessible for all. Much like YouTube and TikTok have done for video, music analysts see platforms like BandLab changing the creator landscape of music – turning everyone into creators. A recent report from MIDiA Research revealed their prediction for nearly 200 million music creators by 2030<\/a>, powered largely by open music platforms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
