We are thrilled to announce that RouteNote and RouteNote Elevate will be participating in the 8th I Know a Place conference organized by Come Play With Me at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on January 19th, 2024.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As advocates for diversity and inclusion in the music industry, our collaboration with Come Play With Me aligns seamlessly with the conference’s mission to celebrate and provide space for women and individuals of marginalised genders and groups in music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To shed light on the upcoming event, we spoke with Matilde Mirotti and Tony Ereira from Come Play With Me. Their insights will offer a deeper understanding of what to expect from the conference and the driving force behind this empowering initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you provide a brief overview of “Come Play With Me” and the “I Know A Place” event for those who may not be familiar with it?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Come Play With Me is a non-profit music development organisation. We specialise in supporting people from marginalised communities to further their careers in music. Our mission is to fight for an equitable, inclusive and diverse music industry. We provide tailored career development for individuals through our events, label, mentoring, podcast & magazine and workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I Know a Place\u2019 is our yearly music conference, developed to focus on women and people from marginalised communities. This year is the 8th edition of the event and we\u2019re proud to have been able to double up with an event in London and Leeds as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did the idea for “I Know A Place” come about, and what makes it unique compared to other events?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I Know a Place\u2019 was born out of the desire of wanting a dedicated space for women and people from marginalised communities in the music industry to network, learn and upskill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does “I Know A Place” contribute to the local music and arts communities?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We think the event provides a safer and welcoming space for people to strengthen their relationships in the industry and within the scene, which inherently creates a stronger and more interconnected creative community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who are some of the notable experts and innovators that attendees can look forward to at the upcoming event on January 19th?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the day attendees will be able to hear from Tracy Brabin (the Majory of West Yorkshire, Sarah Jamieson (Managing Editor at DIY Magazine), GRAFT (a rising-star in the West Yorkshire and national grime scene) and the team at EMI North among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can local businesses or artists get involved and support the event?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
