It has seen a mixed\u00a0first year where it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tidal-to-offer-the-highest-quality-streaming-in-the-world\/\">high quality offerings<\/a> set it apart as unique but subscriber counts set it way apart from industry leader Spotify. Apple&#8217;s streaming service Apple Music launched 3 months after Tidal last year and already has <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/apple-music-pass-11-million-subscribers\/\">11 million subscribers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Things started to turn around for Tidal after October when they announced <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tidal-hits-1-million-subscribers-and-announce-benefit-concert\/\">1 million subscribers and a benefit concert to celebrate<\/a>. Since then Tidal have been marking their spot with exclusive content like a <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tidal-have-an-exclusive-tv-series-watch-the-trailer\/\">TV series<\/a>, Rihanna&#8217;s new album &#8216;ANTI&#8217; and especially Kanye West&#8217;s &#8216;The Life of Pablo&#8217; which pushed the Tidal app <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tidals-app-now-no-1-thanks-to-new-kanye-west-album\/\">to the top of the app store<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now Tidal have officially announced that they have 3 million paid users, triple the amount compared to 6 months earlier. With roughly 45% of those subscribed to the premium tier of high quality music for $19.99 Tidal have significantly improved their status as a major service in music streaming.<\/p>\n<p>Along with stats for the service as a whole Tidal revealed that Rihanna&#8217;s ANTI was downloaded 1.4 million times in under 24 hours, and Kanye&#8217;s The Life of Pablo was streamed 250 million times within ten days of release.
