With a brand new design for listeners, the SiriusXM rebrand promises something new but still unlike traditional music streaming services.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Forget new year, new me – it’s November, new me in 2023. In a week of brand refreshes that’s seen an entirely new image and identity for Deezer<\/a>, SiriusXM rebrand to mark an app refresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service has a brand new logo to mark a new age for their new service. Their updates to the app include a ‘For You’ page personalised to each listeners’ preferences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have revamped their listening experience with a new playback screen for each type of content. This means that music and podcasts will both present a slightly different screen optimised to the content. In addition, they’re expanding their library of podcasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SiriusXM are somewhat an outlier in the age of music streaming services. Eschewing the on-demand platforms of Spotify, Apple Music, and others, they focus instead on a radio-style experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a brand new app and a new streaming service plan, they’re hoping to appeal to new listeners. They hope to welcome “a new generation of SiriusXM listeners”. Whilst the service will still present music in its radio-style stream of recommendations, they want to make it more personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Verge<\/a> note that “the result is something that works and looks a lot more like Spotify”. Younger listeners are accustomed to the on-demand listening of the major streaming services and the randomness of radio has been diminished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, listeners still seek recommendations. Services like Spotify have created complex algorithms to create radio streams based on songs and artists that listeners like. Playlists that present a stream of recommendations like Discover Weekly<\/a> are also massive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SiriusXM hope that they can appeal to new subscribers looking for an experience entirely modelled on that style of personalised recommendation. Their new ‘Streaming All Access Plan’ costs $9.99 a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new app will launch on December 14th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SiriusXM rebrand also introduces new artist spotlights. A variety of new channels on offer will bring a personal collection of favourites from various artists together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 160 massive artists will be launching their very own DJ channels, presenting a mix of their favourite tunes. Artists like Dolly Parton, Olivia Rodrigo, and Cardi B are amongst those with their very own channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
