They generate performance royalties, mechanical royalties and YouTube synchronisation royalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Performance royalties<\/strong> are generated when a composition is performed, recorded, played or streamed in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mechanical royalties<\/strong> are generated whenever a composition is reproduced in any form, whether through stream or purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouTube micro synchronisations<\/strong> are earned through advert revenue and can only be generated when advertisement is activated on a YouTube video that uses your composition. This will also add your composition to YouTube Shorts. However, it\u2019s important to note that these are a<strong> United States based royalty only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>How to start earning these royalties!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure you\u2019re making the most of your plays on YouTube, you will need to make sure that <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/youtube-content-id#:~:text=Content%20ID%20provides%20artists%20with,their%20videos%20legally%20%2D%20everybody%20wins!\">Content ID<\/a> is activated. This will enable you to receive publishing royalties not just on the songs you\u2019ve distributed to YouTube, but also any cover of your composition and anyone who uses your composition in their video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you aren\u2019t eligible for Content ID, don\u2019t worry!
