You can now customize your playlist cover art using generative AI and a “Speed dial” feature makes it easy to jump back into your favorites.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

YouTube just announced two new features coming to their music streaming service. Highlighting the importance of music on the video streaming service, YouTube says that more than two billion people listen to music on YouTube each month. The YouTube Music app is a dedicated music streaming experience, featuring over 100 million official songs, as well as all of the user-generated music content uploaded to the video platform, such as an extensive catalog of live performances, music videos, remixes, podcasts, hard-to-find music and more. This vast library of content is presented in a feed personalized to fit your preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, YouTube started rolling out two key new features that enhance the personalization and discovery elements of the YouTube Music app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First up is a unique, new, experimental idea, as YouTube and parent company Google continue to embrace generative AI in all of their services. Where previously playlist covers were made up of a grid of your four first added tracks, with no option to customize, YouTube are rolling out the ability to create one-of-a-kind, customized playlist art using generative AI. This feature is rolling out now, starting with English language US users, before expanding to other regions and languages globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube are also redesigning parts of the app, including a new way to easily find and play your favourites. Presented at the top of the Home tab, “Speed dial” displays your most listened to music content, making jumping back into the songs and artists you’ve got on repeat a single tap away. This feature will be launching in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
