Now, the APC64 is the latest iteration of the advanced Ableton controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>APC64: an affordable alternative to the Push 3  <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most immediate features of the APC64 are its 64 RGB pads arranged in an 8&#215;8 matrix. In practice, these velocity-sensitive pads provide ample flexibility for expressive performances, enhanced by polyphonic aftertouch. Whether subtle taps or heavy strikes, the APC64&#8217;s pads respond to your playing style whatever that may be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"APC64 Hardware Overview with Taetro | Akai Professional\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EKjI6yjwUZU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the inclusion of eight touch strip faders makes the APC64 stand up next to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\" class=\"underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/ableton-push-3-standalone-or-midi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ableton Push 3<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. However, the lack of any knobs or faders may be unattractive to some would-be users of the APC64. As touch strips are becoming more and more common in MIDI controllers, I think it&#8217;s unsurprising that AKAI has opted to assign all modulation through touch strips&#8230; though not everyone may agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the APC64 is designed off the back of the APC64, it isn&#8217;t limited to Ableton Live users. The APC64 serves as a full-scale MIDI controller for all DAWs, making it an attractive option (if you can forgive the lack of knobs and faders). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The onboard mix mode in the APC64 adds another level of versatility, transforming touch strips into mixer faders and allowing you to adjust volume and insert effects. Moreover, the LED colour screen at the device&#8217;s base provides a clear display of important track information, allowing you to stay in control during performances without looking at your computer screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the APC64&#8217;s 8-track, 32-step sequencer adds to its line of impressive features.
