Now the feature comes to desktop.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the launch of the feature on iOS back in April, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.youtube\/news-and-events\/5-premium-features-to-up-your-youtube-game\/\">YouTube said<\/a> &#8220;this enhanced 1080p quality setting will look extra crisp and clear, especially for videos with lots of detail and motion.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you&#8217;re not a YouTube Premium subscriber, if you&#8217;re signed in to a Google account, you&#8217;ll see the new &#8216;1080p Premium Enhanced bitrate&#8217; option on desktop and the mobile app. Clicking it as a non-Premium user will prompt users to subscribe. Regular 1080p and even 4K options are still available to all non-subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube are bringing the option to TVs soon, with a roll-out on Chromecasts and video game consoles. No word on when the feature will reach Android.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YouTube Premium gives subscribers a number of other benefits, such as an ad-free experience, downloads for offline playback, background play and YouTube Music Premium. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/youtube-premium-and-music-increase\/\">After a recent price increase in the US,<\/a> YouTube Premium subscriptions are $13.99 per month or <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/youtube-subscriptions-increase\/\">$22.99 per month for a family plan.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Did you know RouteNote are partnered with YouTube to help independent artists make a living across their platforms, including <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/what-is-youtube-content-id\/\">YouTube with Content ID<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/free-youtube-music-distribution-2\/\">YouTube Music<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/using-youtube-shorts-as-an-artist\/\">YouTube Shorts<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/\">Uploading to these platforms is free when you distribute with RouteNote!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>YouTube&#8217;s Premium-only higher-quality 1080p option rolled out for iOS in April earlier this year.
