Spotify have just announced a revamped web experience and desktop apps, with a new three column design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/\">The web browser<\/a> provides a quick way to stream any track on Spotify, while <a href=\"https:\/\/explore.spotify.com\/pages\/desktop-app\">the desktop apps<\/a> provide the full mobile experience, where listeners can browse, listen to and download music and podcasts, as well as curate playlists and organise their library. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotify.com\/download\">You can download Spotify on Windows and Mac here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the middle main content area is largely unchanged, the left-hand side panel now shows a Your Library page, providing quick access to your saved music and podcasts, on top of search and new filters. Here you can easily pin your favourite content, switch the order and enter a new grid view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head over to the right-hand side for a refreshed Now Playing section, that panel gives listeners the ability to connect with the artist and discover more about them. Displayed prominently at the top is the current song or podcast cover art, followed by more information about the song and artists or podcasters, with details like artist bios, tour dates, merch, episode descriptions and podcast transcripts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The right panel replaces Friends Activity, however this can still be accessed via the &#8220;friends&#8221; icon in the top-right corner of the centre panel, next to your profile picture. Spotify have provided these additional tips to help desktop users:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Go compact:<\/strong> By default, you\u2019ll see an expanded view of Your Library. But if you only want to see your playlist icons, you can simply click the arrow in the top-right-hand corner of Your Library to collapse the library. If you want to slim it down further, you can switch to \u201ccompact view\u201d by toggling it in the Settings menu.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Search &amp; filter Your Library: <\/strong>Previously, the only way to find playlists was through the search bar\u2014and you had to wade through not only your own content, but results from the <em>entire<\/em> Spotify catalog.
