Spotify have revealed how Monday’s 58th Grammy Awards affected the plays of the winners and nominees at the ceremony.<\/h4>\n

The biggest music awards ceremony in the world has come and gone again. The show saw the world’s biggest artists come together to celebrate themselves and their partners in the industry. Amongst the winners was the incredibly lauded rapper Kendrick Lamar who took home 4 Grammy Awards after an incredible 11 nominations, the second highest number only after Michael Jackson’s 12 nominations in 1984.<\/p>\n

Spotify have revealed how the Grammys affected streaming rates for some of the artists, showing a significant increase for a lot of the artists and some who weren’t even there. Here are some of the results:<\/p>\n

+173% plays for ‘She’s Out of my Life<\/a>‘ by Michael Jackson
\n<\/strong>Thank’s to a performance of the track by Miguel<\/em><\/p>\n

+150% plays for ‘Don’t Wanna Fight<\/a>‘ by Alabama Shakes<\/strong><\/p>\n

+146% artist streams for Lionel Richie<\/a>
\n<\/strong>Thanks to a Lionel Richie medley performed by John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor, and Tyrese Gibson.<\/em><\/p>\n

+92% plays for ‘The Thrill is Gone<\/a>‘ by B.B. King
\n<\/strong>Thanks to a performance by Chris Stapleton, Bonnie Raitt, and Gary Clark Jr..<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

+89% artist streams for Alabama Shakes<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

+75% plays for ‘That’s the Way of the World<\/a>‘ by Earth, Wind &<\/strong> Fire
\n<\/strong>Thanks to a performance by Stevie Wonder and Pentatonix.<\/em><\/p>\n

+74% plays for ‘The Blacker the Berry<\/a>‘ by Kendrick Lamar<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile Pandora revealed\u00a0similar data after the Grammy Awards show, however showed the increase in searches rather than streams. The statistics show some impressive increases, here are the highlights:<\/p>\n

+958 search increase for Joey Alexander<\/b><\/p>\n

+661% search increase for Andra Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

+646% search increase for Lionel Richie<\/strong><\/p>\n

+366% search increase for Little Big Town<\/strong><\/p>\n

+259% search increase for James Bay<\/strong><\/p>\n

+257% search increase for Gary Clark Jr.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were held on Monday 15th February at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Record of the Year went to Mark Ronson for Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars and Album of the Year to Taylor Swift for 1989.
