TechCrunch<\/a><\/strong><\/span> reports that Tidal’s new DJ feature, called “Live”, is available for both HiFi and HiFi Plus subscribers of the streaming service. Tidal\u2019s new Live feature puts you, the initiator, in charge of the song selection, and the company has been testing it under the “DJ” label since December. Now, the feature is available to all Tidal users.<\/p>\n\n\n\nYou can create a session as you listen to any song or playlist by tapping the Live button in the top-right corner of the app. Then, you can name the session and share the link with your friends as you please. If they’re paying subscribers, they can then start listening to music if they are paying subscribers or join Tidal with a free trial if they’re not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In practice, whatever music is in your playing que becomes a part of the session. But your que is easy to edit so you can make the selection more suitable to the theme of your session. And Tidal has stated that the number of listeners in your session count as streams per song. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, Tidal has stated you’ll see live sessions by your friends on your home page in addition to sessions by curators at Tidal too. The company has said it’s “learning and experimenting\u201d with the section to make it more relevant to a user. There are no options for adding comments or reactions as of yet, but users can see how many people are tuned into a session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, one aspect of the feature that could be considered fairly limiting, though, is how you can only create sessions in your registered country. As a result, you can’t invite friends in another country to session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
