Today Spotify announced the acquisition of two new companies, Soundwave and Cord Project, to “boost Spotify’s product and engineering capabilities”.<\/h4>\n

Spotify are a company with great ambitions, and they are constantly proving themselves dedicated to improving their user experience. The latest development for the largest music streaming service in the world is the purchase of two new companies that they hope will “support Spotify’s strategy of building a great experience for music fans”.<\/p>\n

Both the teams of Cord Project and Soundwave will be integrated into Spotify’s product development organisation to expand upon Spotify’s incredible department of developing the best music listening experience.<\/p>\n

Spotify’s Vice President of Product, Shiva Rajaraman said: ” Spotify is laser focused on delivering innovative and engaging music discovery experiences to delight our millions of users. The acquisitions of both Cord Project and Soundwave give us the opportunity to bring two extremely talented and like-minded teams into the Spotify family. We’re excited to welcome them on board, and are looking forward to their contributions in shaping the future of music engagement.”<\/p>\n

The purchase of Soundwave aims to advise Spotify’s music discovery system as a company dedicated to developing technology in the area of intelligent discovery systems. Soundwave has an existing social networking app with a focus on music that allows users to discover new music, share tracks, and connect with similarly disposed music lovers.<\/p>\n

Cord Project on the other hand are a company focused on creating products that\u00a0enhance the connectedness of audio devices. Their primary product is the Cord, a one tap voice messenger for phones, tablets, and wearables on iOS and Android. Cord has attained over a million users since the company launched in 2014.
