{"id":93045,"date":"2022-09-22T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-22T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/?p=93045"},"modified":"2022-09-22T10:04:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-22T09:04:22","slug":"spotify-audiobooks-us-listeners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-audiobooks-us-listeners\/","title":{"rendered":"Spotify launches Audiobooks with 300,000  titles for U.S. listeners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Image Credit: Spotify<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"user-select: auto;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff; user-select: auto;\">Spotify users in the US can access 300,000 audiobooks on the streaming platform NOW.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify CFO Paul Voge announced that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\" class=\"underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-testing-audiobooks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spotify was planning to enter the audiobook market<\/a><\/strong><\/span> &#8220;very soon&#8221; during the 2022 Evercore ISI 2nd Annual Technology, Media &amp; Telcom Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of yesterday, U.S.based Spotify listeners can access 300,000 audiobooks with titles from writers like Stephen King and Michelle Obama on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify says that users in the U.S. can find audiobooks alongside music and podcasts as a section in their search library. And they can also find them in their curated recommendations on the Home tab too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Spotify-launches-Audiobooks-with-300000-titles-for-U.S.-listeners-RouteNote-Blog-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-93047 lazyload\" width=\"467\" height=\"391\"\/><figcaption>Image Credit: Spotify<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>But, for now, users will actually have to purchase titles first before being able to listen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a scoring system is also available to users. This feature collects and displays ratings for titles publicly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its new audiobooks feature is the third leg to Spotify&#8217;s audio stool. Now, the platform allows users to stream music, podcasts, and audiobooks in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Our hope is that users who find audiobooks in their apps starting today feel that the user experience is obvious \u2013 that audiobooks fit in perfectly with how they already use Spotify.<\/p><cite>Spotify<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify says it&#8217;s been &#8220;testing, researching, and listening to figure out how to create the most seamless experience&#8221;  for users with its new feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that said, Spotify also says that Audiobook integration is going to be an &#8220;ongoing effort&#8221;. In other words, the company is &#8220;working to create a seamless audiobooks experience, and [will] continue to build and innovate on this in the future\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his original announcement, Spotify CFO Paul Voge said how the company wants to give authors the best experience possible too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, Spotify said in their press release &#8220;it\u2019s important for us to deliver a great experience for the people behind the audiobooks we all love, and you can expect that we\u2019ll start providing some exciting creator-facing features soon&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\" class=\"underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Distribute your music to Spotify and other streaming services wth RouteNote.
