The Grammy Awards Ceremony will take place on the 15th February and now with two months to go the nominations for all categories have been revealed. There are a few standout acts, in particular Kendrick Lamar who is up for 7 awards and appears on another 4 nominations. Meanwhile The Weeknd and Taylor Swift are both up for 7, but with no extra features.<\/p>\n
Kendrick Lamar has seen universal, critical acclaim for the release of his third album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ and as a result is up for Album of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album. Lamar has also been nominated for Song of the Year, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video all for his track ‘Alright’.<\/p>\n
Singer The Weeknd has seen major success this year, breaking on to the mainstream with his hit single ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ which is in the running for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Australian alternative singer\/songwriter Courtney Barnett will see her first appearance at the Grammy’s for Best New Artist.<\/p>\n
