Previously the icons were one button \u2013 now they\u2019ll be two, giving users a clear choice of whether or not to randomise music on playlists and albums within the Spotify app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-customize-your-spotify-artist-profile\/\">Spotify <\/a>said it was a move aimed at \u201cimproving the listening experience.\u201d Android and iOS Spotify users will see the new buttons roll out in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1390\" height=\"325\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/wheres-the-shuffle-button-on-spotify-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92468 lazyload\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The change is small, sure, but one that will put a stop to the grumbles from Spotify Premium users who have been asking for a separate shuffle button <a href=\"https:\/\/community.spotify.com\/t5\/Live-Ideas\/Albums-amp-Playlists-Have-BOTH-Play-amp-Shuffle-buttons-at-the\/idi-p\/5300744\">for years<\/a>. Spotify Free users will <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/is-spotify-free-really-free\/\">miss out<\/a> \u2013 it\u2019s a feature you\u2019ll have to subscribe to access, along with ad-free listening and other perks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-fixed-shuffle\/\">Shuffle on Spotify<\/a> sparked a debate in the music industry last year when superstar Adele <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/albums-on-spotify-no-longer-shuffle-by-default\/\">criticised the service<\/a> for making albums shuffle by default.
