Never fear, they&#8217;ve just been replaced with Fan Support.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTip jar\u201d for artists Artist Fundraising Pick on <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/can-i-upload-my-music-to-spotify-yes-and-its-free\/\">Spotify <\/a>has been officially renamed <strong>Fan Support<\/strong>. The streaming platform says the name change reflects the shift in how artists are using the feature to earn money on Spotify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-adds-a-button-for-fans-to-give-money-directly-to-artists\/\">Artist Fundraising Pick<\/a> was launched in 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to allow listeners to donate to a charitable cause displayed on a <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-customize-your-spotify-artist-profile\/\">Spotify artist&#8217;s profile<\/a>. As artist incomes were squeezed by restrictions on <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-book-your-first-gig\/\">live events<\/a>, many artists also used their Pick to ask for monetary support from their fans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Making Money on Spotify \u2014 Spotify for Artists Masterclass\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/skOydqiu1lY?start=752&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To date fans have clicked through on the links over 50 million times. <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-claim-my-spotify-artists-account\/\">Spotify <\/a>says of the 200,000 artists previously using a Fundraising Pick the vast majority use it to ask for contributions from fans towards their career, with the remaining 10% raising money for charity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artists are clearly in need of the feature that offers both a way for them to earn some extra <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/most-famous-classical-music-pieces-on-spotify-today\/\">cash <\/a>and also gives fans a chance to show their appreciation beyond streaming<a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/check-out-this-new-rnb-release-from-hip-hop-music-artist-jeffrey-oliver\/\"> new releases <\/a>and listening again to old favourites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Spotify said: \u201cWith Fan Support, fans have an opportunity to directly support the artists they love and also get behind causes that artists care about most. At the same time, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/interview-with-arc-north\/\">artists <\/a>have the flexibility and freedom to respond to the world around them, welcoming fan tips one week and rallying them around a global cause the next.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\">Want your music on Spotify for free?
