That makes choosing which snippet of song to highlight in a Reel a little easier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The max time for Instagram Reels has been <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/instagram-reels-60-seconds\/\">creeping up<\/a> since their initial introduction as 15-second short clips. Reels first appeared as a direct competitor to <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/instagram-will-stop-promoting-tiktok-videos-on-reels\/\">TikTok <\/a>when Instagram sought to catch up with the new platform&#8217;s popularity. When TikTok first allowed its users to <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tiktok-are-testing-3-minute-long-videos-but-do-users-want-this\/\">create longer videos<\/a>, Instagram and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/facebook-and-instagram-in-nepal-and-taiwan\/\">Facebook <\/a>weren\u2019t far behind in lengthening their TikTok copies, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meta, parent company of Instagram, has been determinedly moving away from the traditional static images that the app was built on to focus on video content. It\u2019s a shift that looks set to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever a<a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/10-top-tips-for-musicians-using-social-media\/\"> social media<\/a> platform introduces a new feature to the app, it\u2019s a smart move for creators to immediately make content using the new tool.
