{"id":91167,"date":"2022-04-05T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/?p=91167"},"modified":"2022-04-05T16:29:39","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T15:29:39","slug":"spotify-promote-user-generated-playlists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-promote-user-generated-playlists\/","title":{"rendered":"Spotify are starting to promote user-generated playlists"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2022-04-04\/three-things-to-know-about-spotifys-featured-curators-pilot\/\">Spotify<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"user-select: auto;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff; user-select: auto;\">Spotify&#8217;s new Featured Curators pilot will highlight playlists other than their own editorial playlists in the app and on the homepage. <\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/most-followed-playlists-on-spotify\">All of the top ten most-followed playlists on Spotify are created and updated by Spotify themselves.<\/a> While there are thousands of Spotify editorial playlists across genres and moods, <a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-is-now-live-in-south-korea-the-worlds-6th-largest-music-market\/\">with over 4 billion user-created playlists as of last year,<\/a> there will always be a wider variety from users. Whether it&#8217;s personal playlists of your favourite tunes or labels curating playlists to highlight their artists, <a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/most-followed-non-editorial-playlists\">we&#8217;re starting to see some user&#8217;s playlists boom on Spotify.<\/a> However despite this growth, discovering user-generated playlists on Spotify is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the majority of playlists pushed through Spotify are their own editorial playlists or <a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-netflix-launch-a-hub\/\">those created in partnership with major brands.<\/a> To find third-party playlists users must either search for the playlist or be linked directly to the playlist. There is currently no way to browse popular non-Spotify playlists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This may now change with Spotify&#8217;s Featured Curators pilot. Starting out as a limited-time test, select users and influencers&#8217; playlists will show in-app and on the Spotify homepage to users in select markets.
