SBTV music discovery platform have joined Apple Music’s proud selection of human-curators for playlists on Apple’s\u00a0music streaming service.<\/span><\/h2>\n

SBTV is a music platform that has helped see the success of artists like Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Rita Ora among others. Founded by Jamal Edwards MBE as a teenager the service has gone on to rack up over 300-million global views for their video content and has earned 24 year old entrepreneur Edwards a knighthood.<\/p>\n

They’re debuting their new curated playlists on Apple Music with ‘Ready To Pair: Bluetooth Classics<\/a>‘ featuring tracks from UK hip-hop artists like Roots Manuva, So Solid Crew, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Skepta and more. SBTV join other curators including\u00a0Burberry, XL Recordings, Pitchfork, Vice and Shazam to craft playlists\u00a0for Apple’s almost five month old music streaming sentence.<\/p>\n

SBTV CEO Jamal Edwards MBE said: “We are very excited about joining Apple Music. We are all about supporting talent regardless of an act’s current popularity or hype, and we are seeing this with Apple Music’s curator playlists, which are doing great work spotlighting new and untapped music talent.<\/p>\n

“We have a global following but our new Apple Music channel will be a great opportunity to magnify the reach of the artists we support! We wanted to kick things off with a playlist, which paid homage to the pioneers. Dizzee, Bruza and Choong Family were all influential in the early 2000’s and it’s great to be able to include them in our first Apple Music Playlist.”<\/p>\n

Why SBTV decided on the horribly bland title for their first playlist is unknown but the setlist is a great blend of UK hip-hop, grime and rap. Dizzee Rascal spoke about being included, saying: “It’s great that SBTV have included me in their first Apple Music playlist, it’s good to see they are spotlighting acts from the early 2000’s that were influential and helped shape the UK scene into what it is today. It’s important to look back and celebrate the people that laid the foundations, as well as embracing the future.”<\/p>\n
