Connected TVs and streaming services enable comsumers to watch what they want, when they want. This in turn means viewers &#8211; not networks &#8211; determine what&#8217;s popular. YouTube, bridging the gap between linear TV and digital, position themselves as &#8220;the Main Stream&#8221; with their coverage of all forms, including Shorts, live streams or video on demand. <a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products\/ads-commerce\/youtube-brandcast-2022\/\">In a blog,<\/a> Google announce some impressive numbers around YouTube&#8217;s popularity on TVs, ahead of <a style=\"user-select: auto;\" href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/hours-of-youtube-watched-on-tvs\/\">IAB NewFronts<\/a> and Upfronts, the annual marketplace for digital video and TV ad sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>&#8220;YouTube is [\u2026] the top ad-supported streaming platform&#8221;<\/li><li>&#8220;YouTube reached <strong style=\"user-select: auto;\">over 135 million people<\/strong> on connected TVs in the U.S. in December 2021&#8243;<\/li><li>&#8220;YouTube accounts for <strong style=\"user-select: auto;\">over 50%<\/strong> of ad-supported streaming watch time on connected TVs among people ages 18 and up&#8221;<\/li><li>&#8220;<strong>Over 35%<\/strong> of YouTube CTV viewers ages 18 and up can\u2019t be reached by any other ad-supported streaming service&#8221;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll be able to catch the YouTube Brandcast live stream, featuring top creators and music talent, during the week of Upfronts on May 17th at 8pm ET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>As a founding member of the IAB NewFronts, YouTube has been with us on a decade-long journey to architect the streaming future.
