YouTube Music’s 2021 Recap brings you on a journey through your year in sound, with shareable stats and a personalized playlist.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After announcing the biggest videos and creators of 2021 last week,<\/a> YouTube now share some of the biggest global musical moments of the year on their music streaming service. Much like Spotify Wrapped,<\/a> YouTube Music 2021 Recap, in its first year, hopes to reflect your own favourite music and new discoveries in 2021. The unique summary shows personalized stats such as the number of plays and minutes you listened to your top songs, plus your top artists, music videos and playlists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll find your 2021 Recap on the home screen of the YouTube Music app today, or head here on your phone: music.youtube.com\/recap<\/a>. Share the stats card on socials by tapping the arrow at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube Music have compiled some end of year playlists too, such as Hits of 2021<\/strong><\/a> with the year’s biggest hits, plus 2021 playlists for genres such as Rock<\/strong>, Country<\/strong>, Hip Hop<\/strong> and Latin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a blog post,<\/a> YouTube highlighted some of the incredible moments of the year from some of the biggest names in music connecting with fans around the world. BLACKPINK<\/strong>, for example, became the most-subscribed artist on the platform back in September,<\/a> with their livestream THE SHOW<\/strong> earlier this year gaining huge attention worldwide. Selena Gomez<\/strong> shared personal stories with fans during the intimate installment of YouTube’s Artist Spotlight Stories<\/strong><\/a> inspired by the debut of her Spanish-language EP Revelaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The global expansion of YouTube Shorts<\/strong><\/a>, their TikTok competitor, saw partnerships with the likes of global icons BTS<\/strong> with their viral Permission to Dance<\/strong> Challenge<\/a>, as well as the first-ever album preview from Ed Sheeran,<\/a> who recently hit 50 million YouTube subscribers, plus a single sneak peak from Australian pop superstar Ruel<\/strong><\/a> on Shorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YouTube of course saw gaming changing music videos from artists such as Lil Nas X<\/strong><\/a> with Montero (Call Me By Your Name)<\/strong><\/a> and Industry Baby<\/strong><\/a>, and Olivia Rodrigo<\/strong> whose breakout year saw drivers license<\/strong><\/a> break records and earn her 6 Grammy nominations. Many videos joined the Billion Views Club<\/strong> from artists like Rick Astley<\/strong><\/a>, Shakira<\/strong><\/a>, AC\/DC<\/strong><\/a>, Bon Jovi<\/strong><\/a>, 4 Non Blondes<\/strong><\/a>, Nelly<\/strong><\/a> and Metallica<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
