After February 2022, the video app will no longer exist. Since buying <a href=\"https:\/\/dubsmash.com\/\">Dubsmash <\/a>a year ago Reddit has been building the features into its own app instead, and is ready to dump the original.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dubsmash is a short-form video platform similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-license-your-music-on-tiktok\/\">TikTok<\/a>, popular for lip-sync videos. With the runaway popularity of TikTok, Reddit was smart to buy Dubsmash in 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By integrating TikTok-esque Dubsmash features into its main platform, the company will be hoping to continue to cash in on the winning formula. Since bringing in Dubsmash features to Reddit, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redditinc.com\/blog\/bringing-more-of-dubsmash-to-reddit-by-launching-new-video-features\">says <\/a>there\u2019s been a 30% growth in daily video viewers and an increase of 70% of total hours watched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>Reddit\u2019s video feed feature looks and feels like TikTok<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 68%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"597\" height=\"1148\" src=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/tiktok-vs-reddit-2.jpg\" alt=\"reddit-first lenses - bread dog meme\" class=\"wp-image-89219 size-full lazyload\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Shiny new tools have been added to the iOS and Android Reddit that allow more interaction with videos and editing features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Users can upvote, comment and share the short vertical videos, and swipe to keep watching other similar videos.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Reddit users can use Reddit-first lenses and add stickers, filters, voice overs, and use a drawing tool. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Editing features include volume adjustment, changing the speed of <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/promote-a-music-video-10-tips-for-more-views\/\">videos<\/a>, and setting timers. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Users can upload in portrait mode, landscape or fill, trim multiple clips.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redditinc.com\/blog\/bringing-more-of-dubsmash-to-reddit-by-launching-new-video-features\">Reddit<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Reddit says Dubsmash users will like their new home on Reddit, with the integration making the platform feel familiar.
