{"id":89026,"date":"2021-11-23T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/?p=89026"},"modified":"2021-11-23T15:53:59","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T15:53:59","slug":"netease-goes-ahead-with-500-million-ipo-for-netease-cloud-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/netease-goes-ahead-with-500-million-ipo-for-netease-cloud-music\/","title":{"rendered":"NetEase goes ahead with $500 million IPO for NetEase Cloud Music"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2><span style=\"color:#3366FF\">After hesitating earlier in the year, NetEase is back preparing for a Initial Public Offering for music business Cloud Village.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-get-my-music-onto-netease-music-for-free-and-make-money\/\">NetEase <\/a>has announced that on December 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Cloud Village will be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with a target to raise of $500 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cloud Village runs <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/netease-cloud-music-saw-huge-revenue-growth-q2-2020-earnings-call\/\">NetEase Cloud Music <\/a>\u2013 a music streaming service and RouteNote partner. NetEase Cloud Music is a huge streaming prescence in China, with 184 million active users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was back in May that parent company NetEase originally announced it was going to list its music arm on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The IPO never materialized, with NetEase reportedly holding off, wary of the volatile financial market whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/how-to-get-my-music-on-tencent\/\">Tencent Music<\/a> wriggled under pressure from Chinese regulators <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-ordered-to-end-exclusive-deals\/\">over its business dominance<\/a>. Tencent Music is the big rival of NetEase and the <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-music-catalogue-on-apple-music\/\">biggest music company<\/a> in mainland China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019d been a \u201cdisappointing response\u201d from investors, but <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/netease-cloud-music-and-emperor-entertainment-partner-up\/\">NetEase<\/a> is now ready to try.
