Offering podcasters a new revenue stream and listeners access to exclusive content, Spotify podcast subscriptions launches in more countries.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Spotify and their podcast platform Anchor’s podcast subscriptions<\/a> are their monetization tool, allowing creators to charge for exclusive content, similar to Patreon. With a soft launch in April, podcast subscriptions opened to all US creators in August.<\/a> This week and next week will see Spotify expand the program to creators and listeners in 33 more markets around the world including the UK, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both creators inside and outside of the US can offer listeners in 34 countries exclusive content, perks and emails for those who have opted into communications. Podcasters can choose from 20 pricing options and will still face no fees to revenue generated except transactional fees until 2023, where Spotify plan to introduce a 5% fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listeners in more countries can choose to support thier faovurite creators and get exclusive content or perks, like bonus episodes, early access, ad-free playback and much more. Subscription-only content can be played across Spotify on iOS or Android devices and other listening apps, not restricting content by platform limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
