“Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd just became the first track to hit 5 billion streams! Here how the top ten looks as of January 2026.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently we’ve been looking at Spotify’s most followed artists<\/a> and those with the most monthly listeners.<\/a> Spotify keep this streaming data public and you can find a breakdown of the top 100 most-streamed songs, as well as other listening data on Wikipedia here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 31st, 2025, The Weeknd’s<\/strong> Blinding Lights<\/em> surpassed 5 billion streams on Spotify. As the most-streamed song on the platform, this is the first time this milestone has ever been hit on Spotify. Uploaded almost six years ago, Blinding Lights<\/em> took the crown from Shape of You<\/em> by Ed Sheeran<\/strong> on 31 December 2022, which currently has 4.74 billion streams and held the top position for a record 1,928 days (over five years!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
