Lauren Jarvis has been responsible for Spotify\u2019s massive push into the podcast realm and was behind bringing the likes of Joe Rogan to the platform.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Jarvis, who was responsible for bringing the likes of Joe Rogan<\/a> to the streaming platform Spotify will be leaving her position as Spotify Podcast Executive. She will be joining the subscription book club startup Literati, where she will be the Chief Business Officer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Jarvis, Spotify added more than 2 million podcasts, including the acquisition of The Joe Rogan Experience<\/a> and Dax Shepard\u2019s Armchair Expert.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lauren joined Spotify in 2016 after serving as the Director of Business Development for VEVO. Now Literati<\/a> will be hoping she can bring the same magic to previous roles and help drive its growth by scaling its business operations and striking new book club partnerships.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent interview with Variety<\/a>, Lauren said: \u201cI had the privilege of bringing podcasts to Spotify where I partnered closely with talent to inform, entertain, and inspire their fans through audio. I am excited to expand upon my experience at Literati. I wholeheartedly believe in Jessica\u2019s vision to bring lovers of literature together, evolving the way that people find community online.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spotify\u2019s podcast audience has nearly doubled since the start of 2019, counting over 299 million listeners in 92 markets. They also recently acquired Anchor, the podcast hosting platform to make it easier for new podcast creators to edit their shows and upload them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The streaming giant also recently branched out into live audio rooms with Greenroom<\/a>, a clubhouse clone. The longevity of this format though is in question as it\u2019s not been as popular long-term as once imagined.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
