The ceremony will host 2,500 people, mostly key workers as part of a series of government pilot events.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The government announced last month that it was planning a series of test events across April and May to trail the idea of crowds with no social distancing.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BRIT Awards were one of these said events to participate in and will feature a crowd of 2,500 people, all without social distancing or masks. However, attendees will be required to provide a negative test before being granted entry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vent was supposed to go ahead during February but the pandemic and the UK\u2019s lockdown prevented this from happening. The event will now take place at London\u2019s o2 Arena on May 11th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geoff Taylor, Chief Executive of BRITs and BPI, commented: \u201cThis year\u2019s BRIT Awards with Mastercard is one of the most significant in the show\u2019s history. Not only will we be celebrating the brilliant music and artists that have helped us through the pandemic, but we hope it will provide a path for the return of live music that fans and artists have so sorely missed.
