No more clicking and dragging, or scrolling but still ending up missing a couple of notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ctrl + Up\/Down<\/strong> \u2013 Moves the selected note up or down an octave. You can create <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/7-ways-to-get-a-great-bass-sound-in-music-production\/\">basslines<\/a> in this way, and change up the spacing of your sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shift + Up\/Down<\/strong> \u2013 Transpose a selected note by semitone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shift + Left\/Righ<\/strong>t \u2013 Shift the selected note left or right, to change up the rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Try making your notes legato so that they connect smoothly from one to the other. <strong>Ctrl + L<\/strong> makes the notes connect to each other. <strong>Shift + D <\/strong>meanwhile shortens the notes, making them staccato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A quick chop shortcut is <strong>Ctrl + U<\/strong>, slicing your selected notes into 1\/16<sup>th<\/sup>s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quantize your notes immediately by hitting <strong>Ctrl + Q<\/strong>, moving your notes to the closest beat to keep everything in perfect time. There\u2019s nothing worse than something being just slightly off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h5>Playlist shortcuts<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Hover over each tool to see the keyboard shortcut appear in the Hint box:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p><strong>P<\/strong> \u2013 Draw Tool&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>D<\/strong> \u2013 Delete&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S<\/strong> \u2013 Slip Tool<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T <\/strong>\u2013 Mute<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p><strong>B<\/strong> &#8211; Paint Tool<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C<\/strong> \u2013 Slice Tool<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E<\/strong> \u2013 Select<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CTRL + C<\/strong> and <strong>CTRL + V <\/strong>\u2013 Copy\/Paste, the same as with lots of apps. Pasting randomly drops your selection into the track, so if you want to duplicate something over to the next available slot on the track, <strong>Ctrl + B<\/strong> is what you\u2019re after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ctrl + Mouse Scroll <\/strong>for horizontal zoom, <strong>Alt + Mouse Scroll<\/strong> for vertical zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Right Click + I<\/strong> \u2013 Insert a new track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Right Click + G<\/strong> \u2013 Group a track with the track above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h5>Mixer shortcuts<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alt + L<\/strong> \u2013 Highlights which instrument or sample is being sent to the channel at a glance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Select a channel and Ctrl + L<\/strong> \u2013 Sends the channel to the mixer and copies the name and colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out the full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.image-line.com\/fl-studio-learning\/fl-studio-online-manual\/html\/basics_shortcuts.htm\">FL Studio manual<\/a> and get those shortcuts memorised.
