One of South Korea’s biggest entertainment companies and the label behind the international stars BTS has announced a brand new name for the organisation.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

South Korean news organisations have revealed the news that Big Hit Entertainment will be changing their brand name to HYBE Corporation. The mega-label is behind South Korea’s darlings and the global cultural phenomenon that is BTS and so as you can imagine, many people have something to say on Twitter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the sources reporting on the news, the name change represents their move from a talent management agency to broader content company. The company will be holding a general shareholder’s meeting to discuss and potentially confirm the name change on 30th March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s head Bang Si Hyuk reportedly told All Kpop<\/a>: “We’ll become the world’s leading entertainment and lifestyle platform company. By removing ‘entertainment,’ we’ll have a new, comprehensive image as a general content group, which is our mission.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a poll that the publication put out on Twitter, they asked their audience of South Korean music lovers to have their say on what the company should be called. The results were pretty clear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
