The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced it\u2019s most gender-inclusive ballot in its history.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This years nominees is the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame<\/a>\u2019s most diverse and gender-inclusive in its history. Artists such as Mary J. Blige<\/strong><\/a>, Kate Bush<\/strong><\/a>, Devo<\/strong><\/a>, Foo Fighters<\/strong><\/a>, The Go-Go\u2019s<\/strong><\/a>, Iron Maiden<\/strong>, Jay-Z<\/strong><\/a>, Chaka Khan<\/strong><\/a>, Carole King<\/strong><\/a>, Fela Kuti<\/strong><\/a>, LL Cool J<\/strong><\/a>, New York Dolls<\/strong><\/a>, Rage Against the Machine<\/strong><\/a>, Todd Rundgren<\/strong><\/a>, Tina Turner<\/strong><\/a> and Dionne Warwick<\/strong><\/a> are on this years ballot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the sixteen nominated acts, seven are women, two of whom are already in the Rock Hall<\/a>: Carole King<\/strong> (who\u2019s songwriting earned her entry to the non-performer category), and Tina Turner<\/strong>, who was inducted part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rock icons Foo Fighters<\/strong> (Dave Grohl already being inducted as part of Nirvana<\/strong>) and hip-hop icon Jay-Z<\/strong> have their names on the ballot this year, their first year as eligible artists as their first commercial release was 25 years ago. This is also the first year artists such as Fela Kuti<\/strong>, The Go-Go\u2019s<\/strong>, Iron Maiden<\/strong>, Mary J. Blige<\/strong> and Dionne Warwick <\/strong>have been nominated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artists such as LL Cool J <\/a><\/strong>(his sixth nomination) and soul-funk artist Chaka Khan<\/strong> (her seventh nomination) will be hoping that luck is on their side this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2020 saw the induction of T-Rex<\/a><\/strong>, Depeche Mode<\/a><\/strong>, Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong>, The Notorious B.I.G<\/a><\/strong>, Whitney Houston<\/a><\/strong> and The Doobie Brothers<\/a><\/strong>. All of which happened via virtual ceremony due to the Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
