Bristol post-punks claim top of the new chart published by the Official Charts Company. <\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

IDLES\u2019 <\/b>third LP \u2018Ultra Mono\u2019<\/a><\/i><\/b> has been crowned top of the Official Top 40 Record Store Chart 2020<\/a>, a new chart created by the Official Charts Company<\/a> that ranks the most sold vinyl in independent record stores<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album that was released back in September fended off stiff competition from Yungblud<\/a><\/b>\u2019s \u2018Weird\u2019<\/a><\/i><\/b> and Fontaines D.C.<\/a><\/b>\u2019s \u2018A Hero\u2019s Death<\/a><\/i><\/b>\u2019<\/a>. \u2018Ultra Mono\u2019<\/a><\/i><\/b> was also the fastest selling vinyl release of last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club<\/a><\/b>, Blossoms<\/a><\/b> and Stormzy<\/a><\/b> are also featured on the list, the full official record store chart can be found here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the award Mark Bowen, guitarist of IDLES<\/a><\/b> said: \u201cWe\u2019re Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart 2020, which means that lots of people that did go out and buy the album did so supporting their local record store which is something that\u2019s really important at the minute.\u201d He adds, \u201cIf you\u2019re going to buy a record, support independent local businesses, they need it as much as possible. Thanks to the fans, shout out to independent record stores. We\u2019re top of the pops, Number 1 in the shops, a wop bop a loo bop a lop bam boom!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
