The Singer Extends Her Overall Tally By Three Awards.\n <\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Taylor Swift<\/strong> has added three more awards to her already impressive collection, making her the most awarded star in music awards history. The American Music Awards<\/a> also saw Justin Bieber<\/a><\/strong>, the Weeknd<\/a><\/strong>, BTS<\/a><\/strong>, Doja Cat<\/a><\/strong> and more walk away with accolades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pop music year, now it’s 48th year gave Swift the top prize of artist of the year, following the release of her acclaimed album \u2018Folklore\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, which was released this July. She also won favourite female artist and favourite music video for \u2018Cardigan\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. Her overall tally of awards now sits at 32. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her video acceptance speech, she said: \u201cThe reason I\u2019m not there tonight is I\u2019m actually recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it. So it\u2019s been amazing and I can\u2019t wait for you to hear it.\u201d <\/em>Swift is rerecording her earlier albums due to the long running dispute with her former music manager Scooter Braun, who owns the master recordings. He recently sold them to a private equity firm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justin Bieber<\/strong> walked away with favourite male artist and the singer also won collaboration of the year and favourite song (country) for ‘10,000 Hours\u2019<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, the track made with country duo Dan + Shay<\/a><\/strong>.  The track was hotly contested by the likes of Megan Thee Stallion<\/a><\/strong>‘s work with Cardi B<\/a><\/strong> and Beyonce<\/a><\/strong>. <\/a>The Weeknd<\/a><\/strong> also won three awards , dominating the soul\/R&B categories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doja Cat<\/a><\/strong> took away new artist of the year and female artist (soul\/R&B, while K-pop sensation BTS<\/a><\/strong> won favourite duo or group (pop\/rock) and favourite social artist. Harry Styles<\/a><\/strong> won winner of favourite album (pop\/rock) for \u2018Fine Line’<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, and Dua Lipa<\/a><\/strong> won favourite song (pop\/rock) for \u2018Don\u2019t Start Now\u2019<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards night was hosted in front of a small audience at the Microsoft Theater in L.A and saw performances from Bieber<\/a><\/strong>, BTS<\/a><\/strong>, Megan Thee Stallion<\/a><\/strong> <\/a>and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
