Despite the ban of their biggest asset in India and an <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/judge-blocks-trumps-tiktok-download-ban-in-the-u-s\/\">ongoing conflict with Trump and the U.S.<\/a>, the company aren&#8217;t dissuaded from expanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New reports suggest that ByteDance are in discussions with a group of investors to raise a whopping $2 billion in funding. The terms for the funding round are open to change but are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-11-05\/bytedance-seeks-funds-at-180-billion-value-before-ipo-of-assets\">said to involve investors Sequoia<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ByteDance&#8217;s most recent valuation put them at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbinsights.com\/research-unicorn-companies\">$140 billion<\/a> but this new funding could raise them to a value of $180 billion. Should they choose to advance with the round then it should be easy to find the investors, ByteDance are in a very strong position globally. TikTok and it&#8217;s Chinese equivalent &#8211; Douyin &#8211; are huge, not to mention their other popular apps like <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/can-i-add-my-music-to-resso-for-free\/\">Resso<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tiktoks-parent-company-bytedance-generated-17bn-in-2019-more-than-youtubes-ad-revenue\/\">ByteDance generated $17 billion in revenue<\/a>, that&#8217;s more than YouTube&#8217;s total ad-revenue. Yes, more than YouTube!
