Organisers of the annual Record Store Day have revealed their plans for the upcoming event with the situation in mind.<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n

Record Store Day UK have revealed a new date for their event celebrating music. In fact, they’ve given us 3 dates which will replace the event which was originally intended for June 20th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Record Store Day(s) this year will now take place on 3 different Saturdays across 3 months. It is set for August 29th, September 26th, and October 24th – the planners are hoping that by spreading the dates they will allow as many stores to participate and secure the wellbeing of employees and customers with the unpredictable future with COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team behind the annual event wrote in a statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This current RSD 2020 plan to spread the spotlight and the support over three months, was made with as much available information as possible,\u00a0and gives the largest number of stores a chance to participate globally<\/strong>\u00a0in the strangest Record Store Day ever. RSD will be using the guidance of government and scientific experts to ensure these RSD Drop dates are as socially responsible and safe for all involved as possible.\u00a0Don’t necessarily expect all the normal in-store celebrations and events as these changes have been made to allow customers to get the RSD product safely in a socially distanced world. Our RSD online rules will be adapted in due course in line with retail developments. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Retailers will be able to sell music online after 6PM this year on a shop-by-shop basis, allowing them to take part if not in-store due to any potential social distancing measures still in place at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
