All of that music escapes our grasp as soon as we lose our mainline to the internet world. But it doesn&#8217;t have to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re a Premium user on Spotify, and most other services, then you can save music to listen to when you take your music library offline so whether you&#8217;re in the car, the woods, the desert, another country, or even in space &#8211; you&#8217;ve got a pocket full of tunes to keep you company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download songs using Wi-Fi <strong>and<\/strong> mobile data, however if you don&#8217;t want to use up all your data you can go to the Spotify app&#8217;s Settings and under Music Quality select <em>off<\/em> for Download Using Cellular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>To\u00a0download\u00a0music\u00a0and\u00a0podcasts\u00a0for\u00a0offline\u00a0play:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Search for the content you want<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Select the playlist, album, or podcast you want to listen to offline<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Switch the download toggle ON\u2014it will turn green so you know it\u2019s working<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Once tracks in your library are downloaded, you\u2019ll see a little green arrow below each song name<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Connect your headphones and start listening, no matter where you are!<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>If\u00a0you&#8217;re\u00a0using\u00a0Spotify\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0desktop\u00a0and\u00a0want\u00a0to\u00a0download\u00a0music\u00a0and\u00a0podcasts\u00a0to\u00a0your\u00a0mobile\u00a0device:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Select songs to download automatically to your device by clicking the plus symbol next to any track<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>That plus symbol will turn into a checkmark, which means the song will sync to your phone next time it\u2019s connected to WiFi<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>If you\u2019re looking to organize your downloads, now\u2019s the time! Using your computer to organize tracks into a playlist before you go can be a bit easier<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that if you\u2019re seeing songs grayed out when you\u2019re offline, it means they\u2019re not downloaded and you won\u2019t be able to play them without Wi-Fi. (It might be a good idea to experiment with going online before you board the plane.) To see everything you\u2019ve downloaded on your phone, check out the \u201cDownloads\u201d tab under \u201cYour Library\u201d on mobile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also know that there\u2019s a maximum to the number of songs and podcasts you can download per device. If you do hit the limit, you can always go back and remove some existing downloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, keep in mind that in order for Premium subscribers to keep all downloads available, you\u2019ll need to connect your phone to Wi-Fi at least once every 30 days.
