You are never locked in with RouteNote. You can switch any release between Free and Premium at any time, great for maximizing revenue based on the popularity of a release. QQ Music and Kuwo Music were launched in 2005, while Kugou Music was launched back in 2004. WeSing arrived later, in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Q3 2023, Tencent Music reported 594 million monthly active users, 103 million paying users, and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-earnings-2023-on-track-to-hit-1-5b\/\">is on track to hit $1.5 billion in earnings in 2023<\/a>. This places the music streaming company only <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/music-streaming-monthly-active-users\/\">slightly behind worldwide streaming service Spotify,<\/a> with 602 million monthly active users in <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-q4-2023\/\">Q4 2023<\/a>. Tencent Music currently holds about a 70-80% market share in music streaming in China. On subscribers, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/music-subscriptions-hit-713m-emerging-markets-reign\/\">Tencent is experiencing immense success in this area too,<\/a> with 102.7 million subscribers, representing a 14.4% market share, despite only operating in China. Since <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/alibaba-owned-music-streaming-service-xiami-music-is-shutting-down\/\">the closure of Xiami Music,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-and-netease-growing-faster-than-spotify\/\">Tencent and NetEase Cloud Music<\/a> have essentially created a duopoly in music streaming <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-report-growth-of-independent-music\/\">in China<\/a>. These two services control over 90% of all music streaming in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, Tencent Music Entertainment has built relationships with some of the biggest players in the music industry, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/the-big-3-warner-sony-universal-now-have-joint-labels-with-tencent\/\">Universal, Sony, Warner<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-music-catalogue-on-apple-music\/\">Apple Music<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-tencent-tencents-music-firm-just-invested\/\">Spotify<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-invests-40m-in-gaana\/\">Gaana<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-invest-in-korean-record-label-behind-psy-for-more-k-pop-in-china\/\">YG Entertainment<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-music-sign-a-partnership-with-thailands-largest-media-conglomerate-gmm-grammy\/\">GMM Grammy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/tencent-have-just-made-an-undisclosed-investment-in-another-chinese-music-company\/\">Radio Music Warehouse<\/a>.
