They say: &#8220;We want to be very clear about what is changing today and what isn\u2019t changing at all \u2013 starting with the terms of our privacy policy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The terms of our privacy policy are not changing. Our commitment to the privacy of our users is very important to us and we aren\u2019t changing anything at all with regard to how we use the information you choose to share with us. For an overview of our privacy policy, look\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotify.com\/us\/legal\/privacy-policy\/\">here<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here is a snapshot of the key updates to the terms and conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>We\u2019ve removed sections that don\u2019t apply to U.S. users.\u00a0<\/b>In order to streamline the terms for U.S. users, we\u2019ve taken out sections that do not apply.<\/li>\n<li><b>Third party subscriptions<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Sometimes users purchase Spotify Premium from a third-party service like a telephone company. We have updated the language in our terms to make it clear that users who purchase Spotify through third parties are also subject to the terms of those companies. For example, if you bought your Spotify subscription through your mobile provider, then you are subject to their terms and conditions as well as Spotify\u2019s.<\/li>\n<li><b>Arbitration rules<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 We believe that arbitration is the most efficient and effective means to resolve disputes in a way that is fair to all parties. We are clarifying and simplifying this section of our terms. Among the changes, we are stating the location of any arbitration is now based on the user\u2019s address, we clarify the rules around payment of arbitration filing fees, we confirm that the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association apply, and we remove the confidentially clause so that users can be public about their cases if they want.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;These are the significant changes we are making to our terms and conditions in the U.S. today. We hope this makes it clear that our commitment to your privacy \u2013 and to how we keep your information secure \u2013 is absolutely unchanged.
