They&#8217;ve just launched another update to certain users, coming to everyone soon, just <a href=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/groove-music-just-got-a-load-new-features-including-metadata-editing\/\">2 weeks after releasing their last batch of updates<\/a> to the service.<\/p>\n<p>The next in a series of recent updates has been launched early for Windows Insiders users on the fast ring and brings a bunch of great improvements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the full list of new features and improvements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Playlists from <em>Your Groove<\/em> and <em>Explore<\/em> now get tracked in the recent plays section<\/li>\n<li>When adding duplicate tracks to a playlist you will now be notified<\/li>\n<li>With a Groove Music Pass, Cortana will now play music by genre even if your collection doesn&#8217;t have any music in that genre<\/li>\n<li>Cortana will now play music when you ask her, even if you don&#8217;t have any in your library (she will play from <em>Top Music<\/em> in that case)<\/li>\n<li>They added more telemetry to Cortana&#8217;s integration with Groove Music so that they can better understand when she doesn&#8217;t deliver on your requests related to music<\/li>\n<li>The app now automatically enters full screen mode on the console<\/li>\n<li>The Feedback Hub app has been updated to collect even better information about your collection when you submit feedback about the app<\/li>\n<li>The way the app looks for music on SD cards has been updated to make discovery more reliable<\/li>\n<li>Changes to improve local playback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11044 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/65049fb3-3f59-4b4e-b0e4-81ce35b6c2ff-1.png\" alt=\"Windows Insider Microsoft update Groove music streaming service\" width=\"974\" height=\"1024\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/65049fb3-3f59-4b4e-b0e4-81ce35b6c2ff-1.png 974w, https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/65049fb3-3f59-4b4e-b0e4-81ce35b6c2ff-1-428x450.png 428w, https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/65049fb3-3f59-4b4e-b0e4-81ce35b6c2ff-1-700x736.png 700w, https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/65049fb3-3f59-4b4e-b0e4-81ce35b6c2ff-1-800x841.png 800w\" sizes=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>After the update details were revealed by <a href=\"http:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/musicandvideo\/forum\/xboxmusic\/insider-preview-app-update-groove-music-app\/ccca4b1d-3d49-4d17-86ea-7986c233d5ba?auth=1\">Microsoft&#8217;s Ellen Kilbourne<\/a>\u00a0she added that &#8220;we decided to press pause on this one briefly to allow us to flight one more update to the last major payload published.&#8221; We&#8217;re not sure if that means the update isn&#8217;t available for Windows Insider Fast ring members at the moment.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft have shared information on new updates coming to Groove Music, available to users in the Windows Insider Fast ring now.
