With the Fairbuds 2, Fairphone has confirmed to The Verge that the earbuds will feature seven fully replaceable parts, continuing the approach used in the original model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than replacing an entire pair when a component fails, users can replace individual parts such as the batteries in the earbuds and charging case. For the first generation, users could also replace individual earbuds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This makes the Fairbuds 2 a more practical long-term purchase. Repairable hardware offers the potential to extend a product\u2019s useful life and reduce electronic waste, rather than treating a faulty component as a reason to buy a new pair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>LDAC brings improved wireless audio support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The other major upgrade is support for Sony\u2019s LDAC Bluetooth codec. The original Fairbuds support SBC and AAC, while LDAC allows compatible devices to transmit more audio data over Bluetooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For music listeners, this opens the door to high-resolution wireless playback when using compatible hardware and suitable audio sources.
