At retail value, the market was worth \u20ac321.6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest figures highlight the continued importance of streaming to Spain\u2019s music industry, while vinyl is also enjoying another significant surge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Streaming remains the driving force<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital music accounted for the vast majority of Spain\u2019s recorded music revenue in H1 2026. PROMUSICAE reports that the digital market generated \u20ac160.5 million, up 10.5% compared with the first half of 2025. That represented 88.5% of the total market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Streaming made up almost all of that digital revenue, generating \u20ac159.6 million after growing 10.8% year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paid subscriptions were particularly important. Subscription streaming generated \u20ac121 million during the first half of the year, an increase of 15.1% from H1 2025. That means subscriptions now account for 66.7% of Spain\u2019s recorded music revenue and 75.4% of its digital market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The growth is even more striking when looking further back. In the US, the RIAA reported wholesale recorded music revenue growth of 6.9% over the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain\u2019s growth also follows a particularly strong 2025 too. PROMUSICAE reported a 13.7% increase for the full year, taking the market to \u20ac409.5 million in industry value and back to revenue levels last seen in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Vinyl is growing too<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Streaming might be powering the market, but physical music is far from disappearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain\u2019s physical music market also grew 20.3% year-on-year in H1 2026, reaching \u20ac20.9 million. Vinyl was responsible for much of that growth. Revenue from vinyl increased 27.7% to \u20ac15.3 million, meaning the format now represents 73% of Spain\u2019s physical music market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CD revenue also increased, although at a much slower rate of 4.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For artists and labels, the contrasting growth of streaming and vinyl shows that there is still value in both digital access and physical formats.
