However, one of the most important parts of the deal focuses on AI and how music platforms manage AI-generated content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the agreement, TikTok and UMG have committed to removing unauthorised AI-generated music from the platform and improving artist and songwriter attribution. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.tiktok.com\/universal-music-group-and-tiktok-announce-new-global-licensing-agreement?lang=en\">announcement<\/a>, the companies said the agreement \u201cextends TikTok and UMG\u2019s groundbreaking commitment to AI protections that promote human artistry and ensure platform economics effectively flow through to artists and songwriters. TikTok and UMG will work together to remove unauthorized AI-generated music from the platform, while further improving artist and songwriter attribution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new agreement also signals a notable shift in the relationship between TikTok and UMG.
