The move is designed to make notifications more relevant, while preventing users from switching them off completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>What\u2019s changing with YouTube notifications?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Explained in a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Vqj6XtwcNyg?si=4F8QDt_GOgH6HyxQ\">Creator Insider video<\/a>, this change focuses on users who have subscribed to a channel and selected the \u201cAll\u201d notification setting, but have not interacted with that channel for around a month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In these cases, YouTube will stop sending push notifications to the user\u2019s mobile device. Instead, notifications will still appear inside the app via the inbox, accessible through the bell icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/entertainment\/youtube\/youtube-is-muting-push-notifications-from-channels-you-dont-watch-205119228.html\">Engadget<\/a> points out, for viewers who continue to watch content or click notifications, nothing will change. They will still receive both push alerts and in-app updates as normal. Importantly, this only affects mobile push notifications.
