Just one year after its initial launch, Deezer has rolled out its Women’s Chart to six more countries.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last week (6th March), Deezer announced<\/a> that, in celebration of International Women’s Day<\/a>, it would be expanding its Women’s Chart to six more countries. This roll-out also marked the initiative’s one-year anniversary, with Deezer stating it had been a successful year for “[providing] female artists with the visibility their talent and cultural impact deserve.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lack of representation of women in the music industry is, sadly, a tale as old as time. In recognition of this, Deezer launched the Women’s Chart in March 2025, solidifying the streaming platform’s efforts to shine a light on female artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This chart highlights the 50 most-streamed tracks by female artists, refreshed on a monthly basis. Since its launch, this has been available to users in France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico. This year, Deezer is pledging to further celebrate and spotlight women in music by expanding the chart to more countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Women\u2019s Chart was born from a clear observation: women are still underrepresented in the charts. Yet they shape music every day. This project is not symbolic, it is necessary. It addresses an imbalance and shines a light on what is too often overlooked. One year after its launch, expanding into new countries confirms that this commitment must be global. To celebrate this milestone, Deezer is launching the Women’s Chart in Serbia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, and Poland. Deezer has deliberately targeted diverse music scenes, where female artists can be spotlighted within their particular cultural contexts. The ultimate aim is to increase visibility and connect these artists more closely with audiences. Both established and emerging artists will benefit from this launch, having the reach of their distinct sounds increased internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October last year, Deezer shared some insightful stats, pulled from My Deezer Month, around female artists on the platform. It was revealed that, on average, women made up just 26% of users\u2019 listening share. Additionally, only 30 out of 100 artists in the Deezer Top Tracks chart identified as women. By sharing these insights, Deezer is encouraging users to reflect on their listening habits and choices, as well as reflecting on the vital roles that women play in music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
