Back in December last year, Spotify rolled out its AI-generated playlist feature “Prompted Playlist” to Premium users in New Zealand. An initial expansion saw the feature reach Canada and the US last month, and now it’s coming to the UK, Ireland, Australia, and Sweden. This comes as both YouTube Music<\/a> and Apple Music<\/a> announce their own AI playlist features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spotify says<\/a> that more fans can now “curate the right music for the right moment”, and this can be done by describing that music or moment in their own words. That’s essentially the core of what “Prompted Playlist” is. Users can enter text-based prompts to create playlists designed to match, featuring familiar songs as well as sounds that are new to the user. “Prompted Playlist draws on your full listening history and combines it with what\u2019s happening across the world of music and culture right now, so the result reflects both your old favorites and what\u2019s trending”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
