Apple Music is now available natively in select GM vehicles, including Cadillac models with Dolby Atmos audio.<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

General Motors has confirmed that Apple Music is now available as a built-in app in select Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles. The update allows drivers to stream music directly through the car\u2019s infotainment system, without using Apple CarPlay or connecting a smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Autoblog<\/a> reports, the rollout starts with certain 2025 and newer models and is already live via a software update in the US and Canada. More GM vehicles and brands are expected to follow. This move reflects a wider shift towards cars offering native apps rather than relying on phone mirroring systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike Apple CarPlay, this version of Apple Music does not rely on an iPhone. Instead, it runs natively on GM\u2019s software platform, OnStar, and connects through the vehicle\u2019s built-in connectivity. According to General Motors<\/a>, drivers get full access to Apple Music\u2019s features, including over 100 million ad-free songs, curated playlists, exclusive content, live global radio, and personalised recommendations. Voice controls are also supported, allowing hands-free use while driving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Twerdahl, GM\u2019s vice president of global product management, said, “We are bringing the Apple Music app to GM vehicles in a way that takes full advantage of our industry-leading audio capabilities. It\u2019s the latest example of how we\u2019re expanding entertainment choices built directly into our vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dolby Atmos support in Cadillac models<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cadillac vehicles receive additional features through this integration. As GM\u2019s announcement explains, equipped Cadillac models support Apple Music\u2019s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. This isn’t the first car to support in-built Dolby Atmos sound, with Hyundai\u00a0announcing plans<\/a> last month to feature Dolby Atmos in its latest SUV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In vehicles like the 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ, this works alongside a 23-speaker AKG sound system with Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers. GM describes the result as a \u201cstudio-grade acoustic space\u201d, where sound is placed more precisely around the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
