After being tested in other regions last year, the feature is now rolling out across North America in beta, with wider availability expected by the end of the month. The news was officially <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2025-12-09\/music-videos-beta-premium-us-canada\/\">announced<\/a> this afternoon by Spotify through its <em>For the Record<\/em> newsroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We previously <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-plans-music-videos-us-canada-launch\/\">shared<\/a> that Spotify was planning to bring music videos to the US and Canada earlier this year, before an official rollout date was confirmed. Now, the feature is finally live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premium users can now switch between audio and video within the Spotify app on mobile, desktop, and TV. When listening to a supported song, users will see a \u201cSwitch to video\u201d button. Tapping it instantly starts the official music video from the exact point where the track is playing. Tapping \u201cSwitch to audio\u201d returns the listener to audio-only playback without restarting the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At launch, the catalogue is still limited while the feature remains in beta. Early access includes music videos from artists such as Ariana Grande, Olivia Dean, BABYMONSTER, Addison Rae, Tyler Childers, Natanael Cano, and Car\u00edn Le\u00f3n. Spotify has confirmed that more videos will be added over the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When watching in video mode, the usual lyrics section is replaced with a new \u201cRelated Music Videos\u201d area. This allows users to browse more official videos directly inside Spotify. Viewers can also find videos via artist profiles, the Music tab, and curated playlists by genre and era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlie Hellman, Head of Music at Spotify, said, \u201cMusic videos are often the moment when an artist\u2019s world really clicks for a listener &#8211; when the song and the visuals come together and turn a stream into fandom. By bringing official music videos to Premium listeners in the US and Canada, we\u2019re bringing a richer discovery experience to fans, and providing additional revenue for publishers and songwriters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This launch follows Spotify\u2019s wider push into visual content, including Canvas, Clips,<a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/routenote-artists-can-now-start-spotify-countdown-pages\/\"> Countdown Pages<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/routenote.com\/blog\/spotify-video-podcasts-growth\/\">video podcasts<\/a>.
